Resume Writing When Youve Had One Job For 10 Years
Resume Writing When You've Had One Job For 10 YearsIt is often a case of if you've had one job for 10 years you know what sort of person they are and in the long run it will be a good idea to use a resume that shows your ability to function well. This might sound a little harsh but this is the truth. When you've had a tough time at any job in the past, it doesn't really matter how you have done it because you are not going to be able to go back and do things differently. You might have another job lined up tomorrow but that's not likely. You need to use a resume that you will be happy with for a very long time.Skills which might need to be pointed out are often down played when an employer is reviewing applications. In addition you should consider your experience as a whole. The more time you have spent in the industry before applying the better chance you have of finding employment. If your skills and experience are all related to the same area the chances of your being hired in that field is high. You also might want to keep an eye on what type of work you have been doing over the years. Is it likely that you can find work in the same field? The cover letter is an important part of the resume but you need to make sure that you have the right wording on the letter as well. You don't want to come across as being desperate for work. If you are you will never get a good response from an employer. So the key here is to make the letter sound like you are just not giving up and don't want to give your potential employer a reason to not hire you. Include in the letter why you are writing a resume and why you would be a good candidate for the job. Write it as if you were talking to your friends and family and you are probably going to be treated as such.Make sure that you talk about personal abilities and interests and provide examples of where you have applied them. It is very hard to find someone who has not at least considered applying for a position in the past. When y ou have completed your resume and written the letter that you can show to your prospective employer, you can be sure that you will get the response you are looking for. That is always the best thing to do.
